Jackson Parish – Press Release

Daniel W. Newell, District Attorney for the Second Judicial District in and for the Parish of Jackson makes the following announcement relative to disposition of cases in Jackson Parish as indicated:

2-28-18

ANNA MAZA – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years hard labor.  This sentence was suspended and she was placed on 2 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

SARAH PRIMM – Pled guilty to Manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years hard labor, suspended and placed on 5 years supervised probation.  The Defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

ZACHARY SMITH – Pled guilty to Possession Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. He was sentenced to 2 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

JAMES WOMACK – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  He was sentenced to 6 years hard labor on the Burglary charge and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  He was additional sentenced to 2 years hard labor for the Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.  These sentences are to run concurrent with each other and another sentence he is currently serving in another parish.

RONNIE WOOLRIDGE – Pled guilty with an Alford plea to Battery of a Correctional Officer and sentenced to 1 year hard labor to run consecutive with any other sentence he may be serving. The defendant was give credit for time served.

STEPHEN WOODALL – Pled guilty to Possession Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. He was sentenced to 1 year hard labor to run consecutive with any other sentence he may be serving.  The defendant was given credit for time served.

SHELLY CASCIO – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years hard labor.  This sentence was suspended and she was placed on 3 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

JOY PONDER – Pled guilty to one count of Forgery and sentenced to 3 years hard labor, suspended and placed on 3 years supervised probation.  The Defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

WESLEY ROBERTSON – Pled guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, was sentenced to 5 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

JUSTIN TATUM – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, sentenced to 1 year hard labor, suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

MARCUS JACKSON – Pled guilty to Possession of Marijuana, Fourth Offense and was sentenced to 42 months hard labor with credit for time served.

DUSTIN KYLE BURNS – Pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance.  He was sentenced to 1 year hard labor, suspended and placed on 2 years supervised probation.  The Defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

JEREMY DALE WATSON – Pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance.  On Count 1, he was sentenced to 5 years hard labor, with 3 years suspended, and given 3 years supervised probation.  On Count 2, the defendant was sentenced to 2 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.  These sentences are to run consecutive with each other.

SUSAN DYE – After waiving Judge assignment, she pled guilty to Two Counts of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, sentenced to 2 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

CHELSEY JILES – Pled guilty to Possession of a Legend Drug Without a Prescription and sentenced for time served.

SHANDA K. BROWN – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, was sentenced to 18 months hard labor, to run consecutive with any other sentence she may be serving and given credit for time served.
