Jackson Parish – Press Release

Daniel W. Newell, District Attorney for the Second Judicial District in and for the Parish of Jackson makes the following announcement relative to disposition of cases in Jackson Parish as indicated:

June 11 and 12, 2019

WAYNE KNIGHT, JR. – Pled guilty as charged to Cyber Stalking.  He was sentenced to six months in parish jail, suspended, and placed on supervised probation for 2 years.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines, court costs and restitution.

CHELSEY JILES – Pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance.  She was sentenced to two years hard labor, suspended.  The defendant was placed on 2 years supervised probation and ordered to pay fines and court costs.

SHELBY KELLEY – Pled guilty to Possession Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute. She was sentenced to 2 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

SHANDA KELLEY– Pled guilty to Possession Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute.  She was sentenced to 2 years hard labor and given credit for time served.

CARRIE SWIFT – Pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Legend Drug.  She was sentenced to 18 months hard labor on each count, suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay all costs of court.

BOBBIE BARNES – Pled guilty to Felony Theft and was sentenced to 2 years hard labor.  This sentence is to run concurrent with any parole sentence she is serving.  She was given credit for time served.

BOBBIE BARNES – Pled guilty to Attempted Simple Escape and was sentenced to 1 year hard labor.  This sentence is to run consecutive with another sentence she is serving.  She was given credit for time served.

JOSHUA BARR – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary and sentenced to six years hard labor.  The Defendant was given credit for time served.

TYSON HALL – Pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute.  On Count 1, he was sentenced to five years hard labor.  On Count 2, he was sentenced to two years hard labor.  The sentences are to run concurrent with each other.  Both sentences were suspended and the defendant was placed on three years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

MARCUS JACKSON – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Marijuana, Fourth Offense.  He was sentenced to two years hard labor and five years hard labor, respectively.  On the Marijuana charge, three years were suspended.  The sentences are to run concurrent with each other and he was given credit for time served. He was placed on three years supervised probation and ordered to pay fines and costs.

WILLIAM KNOX – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and Stalking.  He was sentenced to four years hard labor on Count 1 and sentenced to one year hard labor on Count 2.  All was suspended with the exception of time served.  He was placed on three years supervised probation. No contact with victim. The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

WILLIAM SHULER, III – Pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule V Controlled Dangerous Substance.  He was sentenced to 2 years hard labor on Count 1 and two years hard labor on Count 2.  One year of each was suspended and he was given credit for time served.  The sentences are to run concurrent with each other and he was placed on two years of supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

JONATHAN VESTAL – Pled guilty to Felony Theft.  He was sentenced to 3 years hard labor, suspended with the exception of time served.  He was placed on 1 year supervised probation.  The sentence is to run concurrent with a sentence he is serving in Ouachita Parish or any other hard labor sentence he may be serving.

RICHARD AYERS – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years hard labor, suspended and was placed on 2 years supervised probation.  He was ordered to pay fines and costs.

MICHAEL BYNOG – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary.    He was sentenced to 8 years hard labor, which was suspended with the exception of time served. The defendant was placed on three years supervised probation and was ordered to pay fines and costs.

DAKOTA CARTER – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary.  He was sentenced to 3 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.  The Defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

JONATHAN DELATTE – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years hard labor, suspended, and was placed on 3 years supervised probation.  He was given credit for time served.

JEREMY GUILLIAMS – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance.  He was sentenced to 2 years hard labor on each count to run concurrent.

LANCE LAPRAIRIE – Pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance.  He was sentenced to 2 years hard labor and given credit for time served.

BRANDON MALLARD – Pled guilty to Battery Against a Dating Partner with Strangulation.  The defendant was sentenced to 3 years hard labor, with 1 year suspended and was given credit for time served.  He was also placed on 3 years supervised probation.

MICHAEL PIXLEY – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance.  He was sentenced to 2 years hard labor and given credit for time served.

MARVIN QUALLS – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Aggravated Flight from an Officer.  On Count 1, the defendant was sentenced to 18 months hard labor.  On Count 2, he was sentenced to 12 months hard labor.  Both sentences were suspended and he was placed on supervised probation.  He was ordered to pay fines and costs.

WILLARD TODD ROBINSON – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance.  The defendant was sentenced to 2 years hard labor and given credit for time served.

SHAMONDRE VANBUREN – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance.  The defendant was sentenced to 18 months hard labor, suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

ANGELA WALLACE – Pled guilty Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and a Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance.  The defendant was sentenced to 18 months hard labor on each count to run concurrent and given credit for time served.
