Jackson Parish – Press Release

Daniel W. Newell, District Attorney for the Second Judicial District in and for the Parish of Jackson makes the following announcement relative to disposition of cases in Jackson Parish as indicated:

5-2-17

STEPHEN BROWN – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to three years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

STEVEN WOODALL  – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, was sentenced to 3  years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

JAMES WHITMAN – Pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property, was sentenced to 3 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on felony probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

DONNEIL BROWN – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary, was sentenced to 3 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.  He was ordered to pay restitution, fines and costs.

MICHAEL HORTON – Pled guilty to Possession of Distribution of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 4 years hard labor to run concurrent with his probation revocation in a previous case.

SHONDA TRAMMELL – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule V Controlled Dangerous Substance, was sentenced to 2 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.  She was ordered to pay fines and costs.

JASON POTTS – Pled guilty to Theft of Assets of an Aged Person and Theft in an Amount Over $500.00 but under $1,500.00.  He was sentenced to 5 years hard labor on each count to run concurrent with each other, with credit for time served.
