Jackson Parish – Press Release

Daniel W. Newell, District Attorney for the Second Judicial District in and for the Parish of Jackson makes the following announcement relative to disposition of cases in Jackson Parish as indicated:

6-13-17

JOY PONDER – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary, was sentenced to three years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. The defendant was ordered to pay restitution, fines and costs.

RANDALL SANDIFER  – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary, was sentenced to 3  years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs.

CHANDON SIMMS – Pled guilty to Simple Burglary, was sentenced to 3 years hard labor, suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.  The defendant was ordered to pay restitution, fines and costs.

CLAUDE RAY HATTAWAY – Pled guilty to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, was sentenced to 5 years hard labor, suspended all but 49 days, and placed on 5 years felony probation.  He was ordered to pay fines and costs.

CHARLES ESTES – Pled guilty to Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Aggravated Flight from an Officer and sentenced to 3 years hard labor on each count to run concurrent.  He also pled guilty to Conspiracy to Introduce Contraband and was sentenced to 2 years hard labor to run consecutive to his other sentences, with credit for time served.
